Cleaning in the Dishwasher
Stainless steel cutlery is dishwasher-safe if the following instructions are observed:
• Remove coarse food residues after use
• Rinse cutlery as soon as possible, placing it handle-down to prevent stains from food residues
• Arrange cutlery loosely and unsorted in the basket so water can reach all surfaces
• Do not mix stainless steel cutlery with silver cutlery to avoid scratches on the softer silver
• Use high-quality detergents and rinse aid according to the manufacturer’s instructions
• Ensure sufficient dishwasher salt for water softening
• Avoid salt entering the wash compartment directly (if necessary, run an empty cycle)
• Do not wash rusting items (e.g. peelers) together with stainless steel cutlery
• Check baskets and inserts regularly for damage

Important Note
“Dishwasher-safe” means that cutlery can withstand a certain number of wash cycles (1,000 cycles at Villeroy & Boch) without damage. However, there is no fixed standard. Gentle care significantly contributes to the longevity and shine of your cutlery.
